TiaGard® 12.5% (tiamulin hydrogen fumarate)

TiaGard® 12.5% is a cost-effective, fast-acting solution for managing swine respiratory and enteric diseases. Formulated with Tiamulin Hydrogen Fumarate, it delivers the same active ingredient as pioneer Denagard® — at a fraction of the cost per head. TiaGard® is manufactured in an FDA-registered facility and is approved for use in medicated proportions, meeting PQA standards with no veterinary feed directive (VFD) required.

Designed for five-day administration in drinking water, it allows whole-herd treatment with no age restrictions, making it ideal for rapid response to outbreaks of swine dysentery and pneumonia. TiaGard® provides treatment against both dysentery associated with Brachyspira (formerly Serpulina or Treponema) hyodysenteriae and swine pneumonia due to Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae.

Safety Information

Warning: For use in drinking water of swine only – Not for use in humans. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid direct contact with the skin. Direct contact with skin or mucous membranes may cause irritation. Withdraw medicated water 3 days before slaughter after treatment at 3.5 mg/lb and 7 days before slaughter following treatment at 10.5 mg/lb.

Swine being treated with TiaGard® 12.5% (Tiamulin hydrogen fumarate) should not have access to feeds containing polyether ionophores (e.g., lasalocid, monensin, narasin, salinomycin, or semduramicin) as adverse reactions may occur.

Overdoses of tiamulin hydrogen fumarate have sometimes produced transitory salivation, vomiting, and an apparent calming effect on the pig. If signs of toxicity occur, discontinue use of medicated water and replace with clean, fresh water. For complete safety information, refer to the package insert.
